Speech! Speech!- Public Speaking for ALL

Each class will offer students successful presentation techniques for several kinds of public performance. Students will compose speeches, deliver them in a safe, compassionate setting and get the feedback to help them improve. The course includes coping strategies for shyness and stage-fright, as well as getting and maintaining an audience's attention. Among the styles of speeches we'll discuss are the persuasive, the sales pitch, instructional (how-to), public comment, storytelling, eulogy, debate, recital (performing someone else's speech), poetic, comedic and improvisation. Bring an open mind, an open mouth, and an urge to listen and enjoy.
