Introduction to Painting with Acrylics is for anyone wanting to learn how to use acrylic paint as a media. We will discuss brush basics, tips for using this media, how to transitionally and directionally shade, how and why we layer paint, as well as techniques on how to create specific topical objects. At the end of the course, students should have a good understanding of how to use this media to create a Non-Objective, Landscape, Still Life, and Portrait Feature with acrylic paint. Students will be able to confidently use the media to create their own paintings.

Materials: Four 11 X 14 Canvases, Acrylic Paint, Brushes, pencil, cup for water, palette for paint, paper towels, Mixed Media Sketchbook
