This course will teach participants how to operate basic, intermediate, and advanced functions and features of the Microsoft Word software. This prep course is designed to prepare participants with the basic knowledge required to obtain a certification in Microsoft Word. Topics include menu and toolbar commands, shortcuts, toggle keys, creating, editing, and formatting documents such as resumes, letters, charts, tables & business correspondence. This course will utilize common electronic tools and resources to improve users’ knowledge in Microsoft Word. This class meets once per week in the computer lab. Participants will need prior technical knowledge of operating a computer and using Microsoft software tools.

Materials Needed: Students will need to download Microsoft Word on their personal computer prior to class. Computers are provided only during class time.
